Jasper Golf Course in the Canadian Rockies Dear Golfer,
F rom our website you can see where golf is to be found anywhere in the world. It also gives a general background of each country and its overall golfing facilities and in some cases recommendations of individual courses and comfortable accommodation - all of these appear on merit – we do not accept advertisements. Over the forty years this guide has been published, our staff have travelled many thousands of miles, not only looking and playing golf courses, but experiencing many different cultures and customs. The one thing constant throughout has been golf - an international language that opens doors, but never closes them. This selection of courses is unequalled as is the advice; tips on travel and after hours entertainment suggestions. I hope you will enjoy browsing through it and sampling the courses available as much as we have enjoyed compiling it. To give visitors to our website a closer look at any given area we are linked to every golf magazine in the world. These links are displayed on the first page of each country – naturally we have no editorial control over any of these publications.
Where golf differs from every other sport is its humorous side. It is the only sport that garners a constant supply of amusing (and tragic) anecdotes and jokes bringing wry smiles and belly laughs from listeners. The odd cartoon throughout our website illustrates our belief in the importance and understanding by aficionados that golf is foremost a game, but one that will also test the mettle of all those who play it. Much of the humour emphasises the fact that golf to its followers is more important than life itself and often goes out to prove, that like death, golf is a leveller of mankind! Apart from our own writers, we also want to hear from you. Should you find a pleasant and challenging enough golf course tucked away that you feel would interest our readers, please let us know. We will follow it up for further information and photographs. Should we add it to our current list we will mention your name as the discoverer. Obvious omissions do not signify laxness of attention, in most cases it just means we haven’t had time to get around to it yet! Keith Hewitt Editor
